How can you lock a digital cable box from displaying or allowing purchases of the adult channels?

The model is a Panasonic DMR-ES10. It is about 2.5 years old.

Are you saying that a new model DVR would recognize digital signals?
I just hooked up the digital box and DVR and the channels work great. But, I can no longer record the digital channels because the DVR is not picking up the channels – it will only record channel four, which is the default TV channel.
